Love's Training Programs

Retail Management Program
Love's conducts a four week training program for Retail Management candidates at a Certified Training Travel Stop location. During training, the Trainee will follow a CBT (computer based training) plan that covers all aspects of Store Operations. Training includes positional duties, ordering, scheduling, cash handling as well as EPA/environment education and maintenance. Training materials are available on the Love's Intranet for quick access and continued training. Management Trainees rotate through all management schedules to make sure they thoroughly experience a realistic working environment. 

Shortly after the four weeks of in store training, Management Trainees travel to the Love's Corporate Training Center in Oklahoma City, OK where they participate and focus on administrative functions. Instructors provide the trainees with personal attention and detailed training materials to ensure their success.

The final step in the training function is to attend Quick Service restaurant training at a Certified Training location. Trainees spend two weeks learning operations of the restaurant concept(s) located in their Travel Stop. Items covered include all positional responsibilities, food preparation and Franchise specific tasks.

Each of the training programs typically require overnight travel. This travel is commonly two segments of 10 days each at the training location with four (4) days off between segments. If travel for training is required, Love’s will cover all related expenses.


Quick Service Restaurant Management Program
Each Love's Travel Stop has one or two Quick Service Restaurants. Restaurant General and Assistant Manager Trainees follow a four week training program in a Franchise Certified Restaurant. Operation of the restaurant is covered, including all franchise requirements. Opportunities for Restaurant Management extend beyond Quick Service operations. Cross training is provided for Retail Management and Area Food Service Management opportunities. 

Restaurant Manager trainees also attend Quick Service restaurant training at a Certified Training location. Trainees spend from two to four weeks (depending on the restaurant concept) learning operations of the restaurant concept(s) located in their Travel Stop. Items covered include all positional responsibilities, food preparation and Franchise specific tasks.

Love's University

Assistant Managers and General Manager Trainees who excel in store operations may eventually be offered a Travel Stop General Manager opportunity for a new or existing location. Once a Manager has been chosen for this role, they are invited back to Love's Corporate Training Center in Oklahoma City for three (3) days of advanced training.
