Love’s Travel Stops announces Fast-Fill CNG expansion in Burbank, Ohio

Love's partners with Dillon Transport to expand CNG into new markets

OKLAHOMA CITY, Jan. 23, 2014 – Love’s Travel Stops will introduce fast-fill compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling capability for heavy-duty trucks and a CNG fueling option for passenger vehicles at its travel stop located on Interstate 71, at Exit 204, in Burbank, Ohio. The Love’s Fast-Fill CNG station is expected to open mid-summer 2014. The commitment to bring Love’s Fast-Fill CNG to a new area of the country unfolded, in part, because of an agreement between Love’s and Illinois-based Dillon Transport.

“Dillon Transport will be the anchor customer at the Burbank Love’s location,” said Bill Cashmareck, general manager of natural gas at Love’s. “Love’s is committed to bringing innovative solutions to its customers nationwide. We are excited to work with Dillon Transport to bring CNG to a new market with Love’s integrated in-lane solution designed for the over-the-road fleet.”

Love’s Burbank location will be a public access travel stop offering heavy duty CNG to all professional fleets and light duty CNG to passenger vehicles.

“The Midwest is a strategic market for Love’s as it strives to open CNG lanes for its customers across the U.S.,” Cashmareck said.

The partnership with Love’s will allow Dillon Transport, which operates more than400 trucks and 700 trailers in various parts of the nation, to designate 20 CNG trucks to the Burbank area.

“Our fleet will operate 20 Peterbilt trucks paired with an Agility fuel system that will give us 500 miles of range,” said Charles Musgrove, vice president of Dillon Transport.“We are planning for these trucks to run about 3 million miles per year and fuel at the Burbank Love’s location. Natural gas has been a viable,cost-effective option for us as a transport fuel. We look forward to deploying more CNG trucks throughout our fleet across the nation.”

Love’s Fast-Fill CNG gives professional drivers a similar experience to filling up with Love’s diesel or DEF. Love’s CNG stations are designed to deliver a fill rate of greater than 10 gallons per minute in all lanes, meaning a driver can fill a100 gallon equivalent tank in 10 minutes or less.

Love’s previously announced it would expand its Love’s Fast-Fill CNG network at 11 of its travel stops across Texas and Oklahoma. As part of its Texas and Oklahoma expansion, Love’s will purchase 55 CNG-powered trucks for its own fuel hauling fleet, Gemini Motor Transport. In addition to Burbank, Love’s will offer in-lane, fast-fill CNG at the following locations by the end of the second quarter of 2014.
