Surprises are in store for the holidays

OKLAHOMA CITY, December 9, 2014 – Surprise! That’s the emotion you might feel when you step into a Love’s over the next few weeks. Love’s Travel Stops has pored over countless gift items in an effort to make you marvel at the merchandise being offered for the holidays this year. Nearly 100 items met the standard of potentially making you say, 'I didn’t know they sold that at Love’s,' and are in stores now.

Love’s offers an array of gift items year round, but the efforts are ramped up in the weeks before Christmas. With demanding schedules, it can be a challenge for drivers to find the time to purchase gifts.

“We enjoy surprising drivers with our Christmas merchandise and giving them convenient access to popular items that will bring such happiness to the loved ones in their lives,” said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman for Love’s Travel Stops. “It’s the toughest part of what we do, but it’s worth it because it’s what our customers need.”

This year’s theme is SURPRISE! In addition to the traditional items that are crowd pleasers every year, such as plush stuffed animals, Diecast trucks and Puppy in a Purse, Love’s wanted to find the most off-the-wall items available to fill shelves. A power-riding licensed Mack Truck for kids is among the most unique. If that’s not your style, then a Homer Simpson Mr. Potato Head, mini-drum set,97-inch stuffed caterpillar, toy crossbow and dozens of other items are also available.

Finding gifts that satisfy everyone on your list isn’t easy, but it’s a worthy challenge.

“All the little items that set us apart are hard to find, but the importance of Christmas for Love’s is a piece of differentiation,” said Wade Hollis, senior manager of category buyers, who helps select the merchandise. “We want customers to be able to buy mainstream things for their kids and families, but we also want to offer some things you can’t get just anywhere.”

For the more selective person, the Love’s Electronics Center features name-brand GPS units, dash cams, Bluetooth headsets, solar battery chargers, TV/DVD combination players and more. Still not satisfied? Pick up one of many specialty sweets available at Love’s. A 5-pound Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar or a 1-pound Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Christmas Tree should satisfy any holiday sweet tooth.

If those items still don’t knock your Santa socks off, here are some more of Love’s holiday offerings:
