Love's annual United Way campaign sets company record

Love's donates nearly $650,000 to United Way of Central Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, September 28, 2015 – Love's Travel Stops (Love's) corporate office employees recently rallied behind the company’s annual campaign to raise money for United Way of Central Oklahoma. Between employee contributions, a company match and Love family contribution, Love’s donated a total of $649,480, the most Love’s corporate office has ever contributed to the Oklahoma City organization in a single campaign.

"Community involvement is a vital part of Love’s culture," said Jenny Love Meyer, vice president of communications. "The fantastic results of our United Way campaign show our employees really care about making the Oklahoma City area a great place to live and work. We’re proud of all of our employees who made a small sacrifice to improve the lives of so many people in our community.”

This year, Love’s set a company record with 66 percent of employees at the corporate office in Oklahoma City donating to the cause, a 26 percent increase over last year. In an effort to boost employee participation, Judy Love, co-founder of Love’s and this year’s United Way campaign co-chair, injected much enthusiasm and leadership into this campaign at an employee kickoff.

"The outpouring of support provided by Love’s employees has been absolutely tremendous," said United Way of Central Oklahoma President and CEO, Debby Hampton. “Love’s is a true pacesetter campaign in every sense of the word. They understand the importance of our annual fundraising campaign and what their contributions mean to our 61 Partner Agencies. We are extremely fortunate to count them as one of our strongest corporate partners.”

United Way of Central Oklahoma strives to meet the health and human services needs of residents in central Oklahoma by helping to fund various partner agencies. Last year, the United Way of Central Oklahoma campaign raised $21,574,097.

Since 1999, Love’s has donated nearly $3 million to United Way of Central Oklahoma.
