Share the Love has grown into a massive group effort across Love's corporate campuses to firmly claim Valentine's Day as Love's holiday. More than 330 Love's employees signed up to participate in this year's community-giving events. Share the Love featured classic volunteering opportunities, entertaining twists, the return of an old favorite and a new experience.

The morning began with employees heading to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Moore Food and Resource Center to help fight Oklahoma's hunger problem. At the Regional Food Bank, which time traveled to the '80s and '90s with themed music, karaoke and a costume contest, volunteers worked the equivalent of more than 20,000 meals. Through repackaging frozen beans for distribution and assembling kits for the school backpack program, Love's employees provided sustainable nutrition to the food bank's clients. In two shifts, groups at the Moore Food and Resource Center ensured the facility was ready to serve guests and worked with those who came to the center. The morning crew stocked shelves and replenished supplies. In the afternoon, volunteers personally assisted shoppers collect the items they need to feed themselves and their families.

The afternoon opportunities shifted focus directly toward helping kids. Nearly 30 Love's employees hopped on a bus armed with boxes of handmade Valentine's cards and treats as well as more than 150 36-inch plush dogs. Their destination was the Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center, and the mission was to brighten the days of as many kids as possible. Volunteers went floor to floor surprising patients with new cuddly friends and heartfelt messages.

It was still all about the kids with the final session of the day. More than 50 Love's employees arrived at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. They spent the rest of the afternoon playing games, sharing stories and getting to know the students. Not only did the club members enjoy having more people around to join the fun, the volunteers had a blast acting like kids again for a few hours in the middle of the busy work week.

Love's constantly looks for ways to get involved in every community in which our employees live and work. Share the Love is only one example of this mission. We look forward to experiencing many more opportunities throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who made Valentine's Day 2018 truly a day of Love's.
